The Punjab Police have initiated legal action against a YouTube channel accused of likening Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha to fugitive Vijay Mallya. The FIR against ‘Capital TV’ was lodged following a complaint by Vikas Prashar, son of AAP’s Ludhiana Lok Sabha candidate, Ashok Pappi Prashar. The complainant alleges that the channel disseminated defamatory and misleading content.

The complaint stresses that the channel’s false videos could disrupt public peace, promote enmity between groups based on religion, caste, race, and community. According to the FIR, the channel made unsubstantiated claims linking Vijay Mallya’s flight to the UK with a Rajya Sabha member’s departure to England for eye treatment.
