The Bathinda senior girls’ team claimed victory in the Punjab State Hockey Championship senior girls’ category, triumphing over Amritsar with a score of 2-1 in a closely contested match. The awards ceremony took place at the local Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, where renowned international players Amandeep Kaur, an Asian Games medalist, and Yogita Bali, a goalkeeping coach for Hockey India, presented prizes to the winning teams.
Patiala secured third place by defeating Jalandhar with a score of 3-0. The winning teams were honored with trophies, medals, and merit certificates.
During the final match, Bathinda’s Sukhmandar Kaur and Mithali scored goals, while Amritsar’s only goal was scored by Jasmine Kaur. In the match for the third-place position, Deepali, Vishali Sharma, and Aarti each scored one goal for Patiala.
In the senior boys’ category, SBS Nagar advanced to the finals by defeating Amritsar 3-2, while Jalandhar overcame Sangrur with a score of 2-1.
