Wet jute bags, Multani Mitti (Fuller’s earth), and flying kites to counter the Haryana Police’s tear gas-dropping drones aimed at preventing them from entering the state and advancing towards the national capital.
In their efforts to confront the police drones, farmers at the Punjab-Haryana border resorted to flying kites, aiming to entangle the drones’ threads and bring them down.
Moreover, farmers have turned to applying ‘multani mitti‘, renowned for its cooling properties, on their faces to soothe the burning sensation induced by tear gas.
Additionally, farmers are employing wet jute bags to mitigate the effects of tear gas shells fired at them.
On Tuesday:
farmers clashed with Haryana Police personnel at two border points between the states. Farmers’ Tactics, Kites, Multani Mitti, Wet Jute Bags vs. Cops. Facing tear gas shells and water cannons as they sought to breach barricades hindering their protest march towards Delhi.
The protest, halted overnight, resumed on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Punjab authorities objected to Haryana’s drone use at the Shambhu border. With farmers claiming tear gas canisters were dropped on them within Punjab territory.
Thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab and Haryana, are partaking in the ‘Delhi Chalo’ agitation. Pressing the central government for their demands, including legislation on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops and loan waivers.
