Bathinda, 23 October : The State Institute of Hotel Management, Bathinda (Department of Tourism, Government of Punjab) has celebrated the International Chef Day with a theme of “Growing Great Chefs”.
The students of Degree, Diploma & Craftsman Ship Courses participated in the various events that were organized by the Institute i.e. Cookery Competition, Bakery Competition and Quiz Competitions.
Mrs. Sushil Gautam accompanied by Col. Sonia, ASC judged the events. First prizes were won by Ms. Megha Kumari for Cookery Competition; Mr. Snehpal for Bakery Competition and Mr. Manjot & Arun for Quiz Competition.
Ms. Rajnit Kohli, Principal, State Institute of Hotel Management, Bathinda described the importance of the International Chef Day to the Faculty, Staff and Students of the Institute. She mentioned that the International Chef Day is celebrated on 20th of every year, since its celebration by the Late Chef Dr. Bill Gallagher in 2004.
She further informed that Chefs have a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact in our communities by celebrating this special day with their students. Every October, Chefs come together, to inspire and educate, the next generation, about the joy of cooking, healthy eating, and the importance of sustainability in their life.
