14.90 crore loan waiver for 9065 farmers in the district under 5th phase Distribution of Debt Relief Certificates to 10 Landless Farmers on the spot

The state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has waived the debt burden of landless farmers by waiving their debts under the Farmers Debt Relief Scheme. These words were uttered by the Cabinet Minister. Gurpreet Singh Kangar while inaugurated the 5th phase of Debt Relief during a virtual function held here on Friday under the able guidance of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.
On this occasion, S. Kangar distributed Debt Relief Certificates to 10 landless farmers of the district. Mr. Paramvir Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner was also present with him.
On this occasion, Mr Kangar said that under Farmers Debt Relief Scheme 9065 farmers of the district have been given loan waiver of Rs. 14.90 crore. Under this scheme loans of landless farmers, which had been advanced by cooperative societies have been waived whereas, earlier under four phases of debt relief scheme the state government had given relief to the farmers by waiving loans of around Rs. 4700 crore off 5.85 lakh farmers.
Mr. Kangar said that the visionary Congress government of the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had always been committed to protect the rights and prosperity of the farmers and farm labourers of the state. The launch of this scheme by the Chief Minister on the occasion of the 77th birth anniversary of the late PM Mr Rajiv Gandhi is another major step towards realizing the vision of helping the poor. The real benefit of the state government’s pro-people programs is to ensure that their benefits reach the most vulnerable sections of the society.
Mr. Narinder Singh Bhaleria, Chairman Housefed, Mr. Harmanveer Singh Jesse Kangar, Chairman Cooperative Bank Bathinda, Mr. Gurbir Singh Dhillon, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, M.D. Cooperative Mr. Gurbaj Singh, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Bathinda Mr. Amritpal Singh Sidhu, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Rampura Mr. Rupinder Singh and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Talwandi Sabo Sehnaz Mittal besides landless farmers benefiting from Debt Relief Scheme were also present during the event.
