STATE ADMISSION PORTAL WILL HELP FOR ADMISSION IN GOVERNMENT COLLEGES: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

The State Admission Portal launched by Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for the admission of students in Government Colleges would prove to be useful for the students. With this portal students will be able to apply online for any government college across the state. This will not only save time of the students but also money. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Mr M.K. Arvind Kumar after a virtual meeting chaired by Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.

He said that the state admission portal would go a long way in alleviating the hardships of the students as well as ensuring their safety as more gatherings are likely to be held in the colleges at the time of admission. He said that Punjab government was continuously taking steps to provide transparent administrative services and these were yielding fruitful results.
The Deputy Commissioner said that now the Integrated State Helpline ‘1100’ has been launched to provide easy access to non-emergency services of the government to the citizens. By calling at this helpline number, any resident of Punjab will be able to get complete information about services ranging from general information to availing benefits. He said that a centralized platform for integrated grievance and service management has been set up on this number with the objective of efficient administration. He said that apart from grievances through this helpline number, priority has been given to the elimination of manual file processing for redressal of grievances.
Deputy Commissioner said that the services launched today would be a unique initiative towards ‘Digital Punjab’ as public would be able to avail the services of the government through one call or one click in the difficult times of epidemic without any physical contact.
Garvita Sharma, a student of local Rajindra College also shared her views on the importance of this unique portal during the virtual program. Mr. Rajan Garg, Chairman, District Planning Committee, Mr. KK Agarwal, Chairman, Nagar Sudhar Trust, Mr. Arun Wadhawan, DCC President, Principal, Government College, Mr. Surjit Singh, Madam Jotina Singla and District Technical Coordinator, Mr. Mukesh Goyal along with District e-Governance Coordinator, Mr. Amandeep Singh etc. were present.
