SAS Nagar, December 7:

An untoward incident took place late evening here today when a double storied chemist shop named ‘Kamboj Medicos’ collapsed in Zirakpur area of Dera Bassi, informed Aashika Jain ADC (G) SAS Nagar.
The building was observed leaning sideways when the administration declared it unsafe and ordered evacuation. Teams of experts were called in to safely dismantle it before it could cause any damage. NDRF, engineering wing of GMADA and MC Zirakpur were mobilized instantly to jointly conduct the demolition operation. But, before they could bring it down safely, the structure fell down.
Due to timely intervention of administration loss of life was averted. Preliminary reports mention intensive digging in the adjacent plot as the cause of collapse, she informed .
Pertinently, the shop constructed on about 75 sq yds was on rent and was constructed in the year 2006.
