With 50%  seats, cinema theaters and multiplexes will be open: Deputy Commissioner

It will be in areas outside the containment zone Only

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. B. Srinivasan has issued orders to open all the cinemas, theaters and multiplexes in the district with 50 per cent. These orders will only apply to areas outside the containment zone. The order was issued by the District Magistrate as per the directions issued by the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Department of Home Affairs and Justice.

Similarly, in view of the orders issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the District Magistrate would approve the opening of amusement parks and other similar places in the area outside the Containment Zone at 50 per cent. These orders will remain in force in the district till November 30, 2020.

Violators of these orders will be prosecuted under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
