Appropriate arrangements for control of pink locust on cotton crop

The cotton crop at village Jodhpur Romana was attacked by pink locusts on the last day which was taken seriously by Anirudh Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab under the direction of Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sidhu, Joint Director Agriculture Punjab. The following team from Agriculture University Ludhiana toured the fields. The team also inspected the cotton ginning factories during the visit and it was decided that Delta Matherin 2.8 EC would be applied to the affected areas by the department for the control of pink locust. The machines will be sent free of cost by UPL Company.
With the able guidance and cooperation of Deputy Commissioner Mr. B. Srinivasan IAS, following the above instructions, the Chief Agriculture Officer allowed the spraying work to be started as soon as the weather cleared. Under this 4 machines of UPL Company and staff of Agriculture Department are spraying in the fields of the farmers, in view of which S. Iqbal Singh Sarpanch Jodhpur Romana and Village Associate Farmers S. Charanjit Singh, S. Sukhpal Singh , S. Baljinder Singh and other farmers expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the department. He also said that the work would be completed within two days.
On the occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Bahadur Singh Sidhu thanked the Director Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Punjab for providing free medicine and UPL company for providing free sperm machines.
