The Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mgnrega) scheme by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department is proving to be very useful in changing the face of the villages in the district.While providing employment to the unemployed persons under this scheme, special parks are also being set up to beautify the villages of the district through this scheme.These parks are being set up on vacant Panchayat lands in villages. These parks not only enhance the communal harmony of the villagers but also enhance the beauty of the village.

This information was given by Mr. Harjinder Singh Jassal, District Development and Panchayat Officer.Mr. Harjinder Singh Jassal, District Development and Panchayat Officer further said that the park constructed at village Khayali Wala in the district under Maganrega scheme has become a tourist destination for the villagers.
The village gram panchayat has spent Rs. 5.65 lakh on the park set up by Maganrega laborers.The park is proving to be useful for villagers of all ages and walks for morning and evening walks.He said that for the construction of this village park not only the Maganrega job card holders of the village have got employment but also the face of the village has been changed with this park.He also said that this beautifully designed park has a playground, swings for children and other facilities.The village panchayat has also specially planted grass and flowers for greenery in the park, which is enhancing the beauty of the park.
